(…) Apprehending and praising the accidental and hazardous, the display A Hundred of Errors and Yellow Dramas indicates a positive attitude towards existence’s vagaries where sensations, boosted by the garishness of the colours and the amalgam of textures, invite us to savour with the eyes. Heterodox is also the use of colours and materials, the abundance of non-traditional elements like modelling clay, felt, cork, plastic and other found objects –materials that are used brutally, almost unaltered. This reveals how very far David is from the academy canons and how he uses whatever material he can find as a way of expression in a ludic and completely free exercise. A provoked tension and a fortuitous overflow. A combination, both of premeditation and chance, directed to establish empathy with the viewer, to arouse a cheeky smile. A mise-en-scène where a kid, reluctant to grow up, would burn some ants with a magnifying glass. The staging of that time when a drama could turn into a happy, glorious moment; and you could end up dressing in a rigorous mourning yellow. Yellow understood as the new black.
